Appin Hall Children’s Foundation (Tasmania) is grateful for the support we have received from The Ross Divett Foundation over the past few years. We exist for the protection of children in Australia and our prime objective is to provide qualified respite care for young people disadvantaged through serious illness, homelessness, and destitution.

Philanthropic trusts are assembled through the Will of pragmatic men and women who have great vision and empathy toward the continued development of Australian society. Whilst successful in creating wealth and a sense of worldliness, these wonderful people are inspirational in understanding and recognising a need to help disadvantaged people in our communities – and by having the foresight to establish a funding pool to be used to benefit those who largely need it.

Their code is not geared toward various organisations ‘winning’ a grant. It is about building a principle based upon conscious awareness and human kindness – ultimately transferred through RESPECT!

Appin Hall is most grateful to have been successful in receiving two rounds of grant support from The Ross Divett Foundation. The first, for a large number of musical instruments that continues to bring delight to children visiting our centre - enabling them to express musical talents and have fun! The second grant provided the ability to purchase much needed office equipment for expanding office duties. In this way, we continue getting the job done in a professional manner.

Appin Hall would like to thank the RDF Board and staff for their most valuable contribution toward the Australian community, and for acknowledging our endeavours to create positive ‘change’ for children in a transforming world. Ultimately, thanks to Ross Divett who’s legacy carries his insight - a vital link that allows us to connect with one another’s aspirations in a fundamental and practical way.

Our association with the RDF establishes a bridge of human spirit, a circuit, so to speak, that provides protection and the beginnings of a healing process our young people need to reinforce family ties, prosperity, and a mode of living in a vital world. It is a fine line we walk when assisting the healing process in a young person’s life - a balancing act to define the way in which we can help to heal mental and emotional trauma; thereby assisting to strengthen a connection to the human spirit and the Earth.

The Law of Giving connects us all in ways we have just begun to realise and imagine.

- Ronnie Burns, Chairman, Appin Hall
