Security Credit Union is proud to be part of the Centrelink Community and the Corporate Partner to the Ross Divett Foundation and supports the great work the Foundation does.
Like the Ross Divett Foundation, the credit union seeks to make a difference in people’s lives. We do it by providing great value in banking.
More about Security Credit Union
Security Credit Union Ltd was established in 1964 as Social Security Officers Credit Union. The credit union was formed by a group of Social Security Officers to provide affordable financial services to their colleagues and provide an alternative to the then rigid policies of Banks. We changed our name to Security Credit Union in 1997 just after Centrelink was established.
An important decision was made in 2008 when Security Credit Union and Comtax Credit Union merged to form Allied Members Credit Union Limited. Comtax Credit Union was originally formed in 1948 as the 4th Division Taxation Officers Credit Union by a group of Australian Taxation Office employees to provide affordable financial services and products to ATO officers.
Because our links to our past and our identities are important to us, and we believe to our Members, Comtax and Security continue to operate as divisions of AMCU. We have done this because we think it is also important to be able to identify with the communities in which we operate.
Both credit unions have continued to focus on Centrelink and the ATO and are dedicated to providing better financial services to past and present Centrelink and ATO Staff and their families. We intend to continue to do this is the future.
Credit Unions are member-owned, which means we are a democratic organisation totally focused on the needs of members and everything we do is aimed at enhancing the financial well-being of our members.
The Board and Staff of Allied Members Credit Union are pleased to be supporting the Ross Divett Foundation until 2011 and are looking forward to helping the Foundation further its aims over this time.
